Motion Design for FIFA
I worked on FIFA for several months through the agency Wonderful & Brilliant. The agency was tasked with a wide range of motion focused briefs. Switching between conceptual and production focused briefs was common.
The majority of the work was for a new platform called FIFA+. The platform was FIFA’s exclusive new streaming service. It offered football fans a plethora of football content from across the globe.
FIFA needed help with developing content for their platform. Logo animation, titles and intros are examples of where motion design is required.
The FIFA Fan Festivals are public viewing events organized by FIFA and the host cities during the FIFA World Cup. FIFA requested concepts for the animation which would be played before short films and broadcasts.
The concept is centered around football celebrating celestial experiences. Excitement and energy is amplified by the cinematic camera movement and explosion into the Fan Fest logo.
The executions offered a variation in pacing, colour and energy and tone.
Forest Green Rovers
Forest Green Rovers are running a documentary series on FIFA+ .They required an animation using the tagline ‘We are Forest Green Rovers’ into the social tagline ‘We are FRG’.
Forest Green Rovers define themselves as a Eco football club. They are focused on reducing their carbon emissions to be the greenest football club in the world.
Depicting an earthly green focused culture in the animation is an authentic representation of Forest green rovers. Stop-motion style transitions and roughening the edges of ‘Forest Green Rovers’ adds a tactile and organic aesthetic to the whole piece.
